Caftan vs. kaftan. Same garment, two spellings: the loose, wide-sleeved robe-dress worn across North Africa and the Middle East for centuries. We use both words because customers search for both.
Beach cover-up or dress? Both. The sheer and lighter rayon styles work as swim cover-ups; the heavier embroidered and stonewashed styles are dresses in their own right for dinners, resort evenings and summer weddings.
Fit. One Size caftans are cut wide so they drape rather than fit; length is the thing to check, and each product page lists it. If you are between a regular and plus style, choose by shoulder width rather than overall size.
Fabric and care. Rayon is breathable and soft but creases; hang it in a steamy bathroom or use a cool iron. Machine wash cold on gentle, hang to dry.
Styling. Belt a long caftan for shape, wear a short one over leggings in cooler months, and pair embroidered necklines with simple earrings.
